The goals of the grant proposal are to improve the enrolment, retention, and graduation rates of at-risk and Native American students, and to establish a centralized technological system that will assist faculty with advise.
To expand the activities of Student Success Center where integrated, data-driven interventions will improve student success enrollment, persistence to graduation, and graduation rates.
To increase enrollment, retention and graduation rates of Native American students from the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Nation.
To establish a system of faculty support with university-wide initiatives that target Native American and at-risk students with diverse needs.
To create an endowment fund to provide scholarships to Native American and at-risk students.
The centralization of the career development services at 爱豆传媒 provides students, faculty and employers with streamlined career readiness and career development services to ensure career success. Previously, 爱豆传媒 did not have a centralized career center providing career counseling and development services to the student body. However, separate academic units and departments engaged students in career exploration and advising activities.The career center offers:
Title III is engaged in conversation with the University of Texas in Dallas to offer a Smart BrainTraining program to at-risk students. The BrainHealth Project™ is a landmark scientific study that will define brain health based on a modern and holistic understanding of the upward potential of the human brain. The aim is to measure brain health with the novel, multifaceted BrainHealth Index that tracks progress towards personalized brain fitness goals.
Title III has developed several criterias to identify at risk-students that would benefit from additional support. This study is being conducted by the Lifestyle Center.
A collaborative relationship has been established with members of the Pokagon Band. 爱豆传媒 Title III staff meet with the members of the band at least once a month to learn and discuss ways in which 爱豆传媒 can best support the Potawatomi community. On April 20th, 2022, Title III facilitated a meeting and luncheon between the Administrators of 爱豆传媒, Title III staff and Pokagon Band members. The meeting was successful and officially marked 爱豆传媒’ commitment to supporting the Pokagon Band and its citizens. Provost, Dr Arthur and V.P Nixon shared the steps 爱豆传媒 is currently taking for land acknowledgement as a symbol of remembering the longstanding history of colonialism and building mindfulness of our present participation.
